"Satisfied: In Stillness" Original Abstract Embroidery, Framed 16 x 16 Inches
As I walked the old growth forest of the Pacific Northwest, I stopped to stare up at the trees. They were so big and sturdy, reaching up to the sky with a humble unhurriedness. Having patiently grown year after year, they were now impossibly big. I wanted to be more like them, more patient and more still, not missing the beauty of life around me that I can easily overlook in hurriedness and busyness.
This piece captures that moment in the forest, a reminder of slow growth and stillness. The ring symbolizes one year of growth in a tree, while the varied textures and colors surrounding it symbolize the wonders we can stop to appreciate if we will only slow down and be still.
This piece of artwork has been meticulously mounted for longevity by the artist on archival conservation matboard. It has also been custom framed with conservation glass and shadow box walls to protect the art from UV rays and give the stitches room to breathe. The frame in made from an unstained natural wood.
