"Ciottoli" Original Abstract Embroidery, 5 x 7 inches
This is the original hand stitched piece behind my embroidery pattern of the same name. It is inspired by the stone beaches of the Pacific Northwest coast at sunset. With the crisp wind brushing my face, I sat and watched the waves come to shore while the sun went down and my husband built a stack of stones next to me. The interlocking circles are reminiscent of those stacked stones, hence the name “Ciottoli,” which means pebbles in Italian.

Hand embroidery on 100% cotton fabric with cotton thread
Mounted using archival techniques on conservation matboard with a cotton backing. This helps protect the stitching from sagging over time and prepares it for framing.
5" (12.7 cm) by 7" (17.8 cm), approximately 1/4 inch (0.6 cm) thick
